Gang Xiao received his Doctorate in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2016. He visited Prof. Huaiyong Zhu’s Group at Queensland University of Technology in 2015 as a joint training PhD student. He joined the same university as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2016 and then as a Lecturer in 2018. From January 2022 to December 2023, he received funding support from H2020-MSCA-IF-2020 as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Catalysis Institute, Cardiff, under the Chairmanship of Professor Graham Hutchings. He then rejoined Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2024 to lead the Photo-Catalysis and Photo-Bio-Catalysis Laboratories. His research interests include: Heterogeneous photocatalysis, plasmonic catalysis, metal nanocatalysts, plastic upcycling, photobiocatalysis, lignin valorisation.
