Georgios Koimtzis is currently working as a Specialty Trainee Year 4 in General and Colorectal Surgery fot Health Education and Improvement in Wales. He holds an MD (primary medical qualification from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and an MSc in Clinical and Applied Anatomy from the same university. He has completed his primary surgical training in Greece. He has also completed a two-year research fellowship in kidney and pancreas transplantation in the University Hospital of Wales. He has participated in multiple research projects with 45 publications in PubMed indexed journals. His main area of interest is organ transplantation and upper gastrointestinal surgery.
