Biography

Gerardo Andrés Ramos Trujillo obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Quindío in 2018 and is presently a third-year doctoral candidate in Chemical Sciences at the same institution. Since 2019, he has held the position of leader and director of the Instrumental Analysis Laboratory at the University of Quindío, where he manages analytical workflows and research support operations. In 2023, he was appointed as a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, a role he fulfills concurrently with his laboratory leadership responsibilities. His research is centered on chemoinformatics, structural design, and the organic synthesis of potentially bioactive heterocyclic compounds. He has developed substantial expertise in instrumental characterization techniques, including GC-MS, NMR, FTIR, HPLC, DSC, AA, UV–Vis, and TGA, as well as computational methodologies such as molecular docking, molecular dynamic simulations, and QSAR modeling. His work integrates experimental and computational approaches to investigate the structure–activity relationships and design of novel organic molecules with potential biological activity.
