Dr. Giampiero Grossi is a researcher at the Department of Agriculture and Forestry Science, Tuscia University, Italy. He holds a PhD in Animal and Plant Production Sciences and has more than ten years of research experience in livestock systems, environmental sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate change mitigation. His research focuses on the environmental assessment and climate resilience of livestock and agri-food systems, with particular attention to life cycle assessment, carbon and water footprint analysis, enteric methane emissions, soil emissions, heat stress, animal welfare, and mitigation and adaptation strategies in ruminant production. His scientific activity also includes the use of data-processing pipelines, smart technologies, and machine learning approaches to support environmental monitoring and decision-making in dairy and beef cattle systems, buffalo dairy supply chains, pasture-based systems, and broader agricultural contexts. He is President and co-founder of Kassena, an academic spin-off of Tuscia University that translates research-based knowledge and expertise into consultancy services for businesses. He is a member of ASPA and of the ASPA Study Commission on the Assessment of the Environmental Impact of Livestock Systems.
