Howon Kim received his B.S. degree from Kyungpook National University and the Ph.D. degree from Pohang University of Science and Technology, and is now a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Pusan National University. He worked as a Team Leader at Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (1998–2008). In 2008, he moved to Pusan National University and was promoted to Professor. His research topics mainly include cryptography, information security, IoT security, and embedded system security. He was also a Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher with the Communication Security Group (COSY) at Ruhr University Bochum (2003–2004).
