Graduated in Nuclear Chemistry from University of Havana, obtained his Master's and Doctorate degrees in Metallurgy and Materials Sciences at the Michoacan University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo, obtaining a doctorate in 2007. As a researcher, has published 60 scientific papers and 9 patent applications in Mexico. Has participated in 15 research projects on basic and applied research topics, and presented 120 scientific conferences in Mexico and other countries. He has participated as organizer in 29 events and scientific courses and directed 15 undergraduate and 7 master's theses. Among his research areas are Materials Characterization, Fractals, Processing of metallic materials, Porous materials, Heat treatments and Composite materials, combining experimental research with modeling and simulation.
