Edgardo Fabián Irassar is a Full Professor of Civil Engineering Department at the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. He received his Specialization in Concrete Technology from the National University of La Plata, Argentina, and his Construction Engineer credential from the National University of Center of the Province of Buenos Aires (UNCPBA). From 1991, he served as Associate Professor in the Materials Laboratory of the Department of Civil Engineering, UNCPBA at Olavarría. He was appointed as Head of the INMAT Research Group of the Engineering Faculty in 1996 and is currently Vice Chair of the CIFICEN Research Unit (CONICET- UNCPBA). He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 1992 to 2000 and from 2004 to 2012. He has participated as an investigator in scientific and industrial R&D projects funded by industrial collaborators and government agencies in Argentina and has been serving as a consultant to the industry in Argentina in the area of durability and blended cement. Professor Irassar has been actively serving as a reviewer for many international journals, including Cement and Concrete Research, ACI Materials Journal, ACI Structural Journal, Concrete International (ACI), Cement and Concrete Composites, RILEM Materials and Structure, Journal of Composite Materials, Journal of Environmental Management, etc.
