Juan Pablo Fernández-Trujillo has been a full profesor in Technical University of Cartagena (Murcia, Spain) since 2017. He is a BSc in agronomical engineering (mention of industries; 1992), an MSc in environmental management (The Open University-UK; 1999), and a Ph.D. in 1997 (Polytechnic University of Valencia). He continued as a postdoctoral at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) during 1997-1999, and became an associate professor in UPCT in 1999 (permanent in 2001). In 2001 he received the SECH young scientist award. He has an extensive experience and publications in postharvest biology and technology of fruits and vegetables, including tropical, subtropical, and temperate fruit crops. His research and teaching interests include harvest and postharvest quality-oriented breeding (particularly fruits), food-processing technologies, biotechnology, and food-extractive industries. He reviewed more than 200 papers for more than 30 peer-review journals. Actually, member of Editorial Board of Foods-MDPI and other journals. He is a reviewer of regional, national and international research agencies. He is a member of international (ASHS, ISHS) and the national society SECH.
