Biography

Currently, I hold the position of visiting professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). II completed my Ph.D. in Sciences at the Federal University of São Paulo - Escola Paulista de Medicina, specializing in proteomics focused on bioactive compound sequencing. I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship (FAPESP) in the Department of Physiology at the Institute of Biosciences at the University of São Paulo (IB-USP), with an emphasis on comparative physiology and proteomics/systems biology. I was a visiting postdoctoral researcher (BEPE-FAPESP) at the University of Virginia (UVA - USA), where I developed a project focused on phosphoproteomics and ubiquitinomics in cardiac tissue to uncover the molecular mechanisms of a pharmacological agonist. My research focuses on proteomics (mass spectrometry and computational biology), with a particular emphasis on the following areas: manual sequencing of proteins and peptides (de novo sequencing) with potential bioactive properties for pharmaceutical screening; proteogenomic analysis; post-translational modifications (PTMs) - phosphorylation and ubiquitination; label-free quantification for relative quantification of complex samples; structural and biological characterization of bioactive compounds and the description of biological processes and signaling pathways for phenotypic characterization in experimental models.
