Pr. Jean Guillon received his Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Caen University (1996). He completed his postdoctoral training as a postdoctoral research assistant for Sanofi-Synthélabo laboratories from 1996 to 1997. He then held a position as a research and development engineer for the company Synthéval from 1997 to 2000. He joined the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Bordeaux, as an Assistant Professor in Medicinal Chemistry in 2000, then was promoted to Professor in 2011. Since 2016, he has served as the team leader of the « Heterocyclic Pharmaceutical Chemistry » research group. His research interests concern the design and development of anticancer and antimalarial drugs.
