Yanyan Jiang, PhD, is a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), and a member of the NHC Key Laboratory of Parasite and Vector Biology. Her research focuses on the etiology, molecular epidemiology, and key prevention and control technologies for emerging and important parasitic diseases, with particular emphasis on the genetic diversity, molecular genotyping, cross-host transmission mechanisms, and public health risk assessment of zoonotic pathogens such as Cryptosporidium. The major research interest of her work is to understand the transmission dynamics, host adaptation, and evolutionary mechanisms of emerging zoonotic protozoa, and to develop molecular tools for pathogen surveillance and risk assessment. In academic service, she has served as a Youth Editorial Board Member of the Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases and Disease Surveillance since 2020, and was appointed as an Editorial Board Member of the 9th Editorial Committee of Disease Surveillance in 2025. Her research has received several awards, including the Second Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, Second Prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, Third Prize of Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award, and Third Prize of Chinese Preventive Medicine Science and Technology Award.
