Dr. Sun is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the marine equipment basic science research center at the Ocean University of China. He received his BS, MSc and PhD degrees from Ocean University of China. His research interests include but not limited to the coupled analysis of offshore structures, hydroelasticity of very large floating structures, marine environment observation and multi-criterion decision making. He serves as youth editorial board members of the Journal of China and Ocean Engineering, as well as the journal of Ocean University of China (Natural Science Edition). He is also a key member of Huang Danian education consortium led by academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Prof. Huajun Li. Dr. Sun is currently leading or participating in 6 research projects, including projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key R&D Program and Major Science and Technology Innovation Projects in Shandong Province. He has won the first prize of marine engineering science and technology in 2025 as the first author, and published over 40 journal papers as the first or corresponding author, including 1 ESI highly cited paper.
