José Martinho Lourenço completed his PhD in Geology (2006) at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal. He has held the position of Auxiliary Professor in the Department of Geology since 2006, where he teaches subjects related to landscape ecology, external geodynamics, and the survey of natural resources. Currently, he is a member of the Geosciences Centre (CGeo, University of Coimbra)). He is also a member of other associations, such as the Order of Engineers, Geology and Information and Communication Technologies, Association of Users of Geographic Information Systems, Portuguese Association of Geologists, Geological Society of Portugal, Structural Geology and Tectonics Group and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers. He is the author of several peer-reviewed scientific research papers, conference proceedings, books, and book chapters.
