Prof. Dr. José Carlos Carlos Vera Jiménez

Professor Doctor José C. Vera-Jiménez serves as the coordinator of the School of Public Security Studies at the Cádiz City Council, while also holding the position of Associate Professor in the field of Legal and Forensic Medicine at the University of Cádiz. He possesses a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Security (2014), a Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (2015), both obtained from the University of Cádiz, and a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering and telemedicine from the same institution. With a professional background spanning 30 years in the Local Police of Cádiz, Dr. Vera-Jiménez specializes as an expert in the assessment of police force utilization. His expertise extends to a global context, contributing to police training initiatives in various countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, France, and Portugal. In the realm of academic research, he serves as an Occupational Health and Risk (OHR) researcher with a specific focus on policing. Dr. Vera-Jiménez also holds the positions of director and professor for the "University Expert Title: Instructor in occupational risk prevention techniques typical of the police and the army." Additionally, he serves as the director of the "Prevention of School Violence," a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Research and Development and innovation (I+D+i) in the field of occupational risk prevention.
