I am a biochemist trained at UASLP and hold an MSc and PhD in Neuroscience from the Complutense University of Madrid. I am a full-time faculty member at UASLP’s Faculty of Nursing and Nutrition. My research examines neuroendocrine–immune mechanisms linking obesity to metabolic complications, with emphasis on trace elements (selenium, zinc, manganese/cobalt), oxidative stress, melatonin, and insulin resistance. I integrate human cohorts and experimental models to study adipose–liver crosstalk and metabolic health, translating findings into nutrition-focused prevention and clinical strategies.
