Dr. Klentrou is an applied physiologist with expertise in exercise interventions and sport training primarily in children and youth. She has been internationally recognized for her interdisciplinary approach to the study of health risk behaviours and related health outcomes in the adolescent population. She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Osteoporosis Canada, and the International Gymnastics Federation. In the last 5 years, Dr. Klentrou's research has been focused on how sexual maturation, inflammation, activity, adiposity and nutrition affect musculoskeletal growth, development and adaptation.
