Started my career as a clinical medical doctor, I gradually locate my research interests on microbial water quality assessment using diverse molecular diagnostic methods, including mainly species-specific quantitative PCR and next generation DNA sequencing approach together with bioinformatic data analysis. My work has been primarily focused on microbial source tracking of fecal water contamination, health critical waterborne pathogens detection, ARGs profiling and dissecting aquatic microbial diversity changes on spatiotemporal scales under variable anthropogenic and environmental impacts.
