Biography

Guadalupe López López, PhD in Process Engineering from the University of Aix-Marseille III, France, conducted postdoctoral research at Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Aix-en-Provence. She is currently a Senior Researcher at TecNM/CENIDET in Mexico and a founder of the Research Group "Modeling, DSP, and Control of Sustainable Energy and Complex Systems." Her research focuses on modeling, simulation, and automatic control of chemical processes and complex systems, with a strong emphasis on alternative energies. Currently, she is leading projects to integrate renewable energy into smart grids and to develop advanced control schemes. This involves using system identification, fractional calculus, and metaheuristic optimization to characterize memory-dependent phenomena and nonlinear dynamics in energy storage and industrial processes. Her new areas of interest include AI applied to process engineering and biomedical applications, Digital Twins, and advanced control strategies within interdisciplinary projects that bridge the gap between theoretical mathematical modeling and practical industrial applications. She offers expertise in designing virtual process labs using open source, proprietary, and industrial simulators. Her research provides a robust framework for validating control algorithms and simulating nonlinear media, supported by her experience in international scientific collaboration at LAAS/CNRS, GIPSA-lab, and the San Peregrino Cancer Center.
