PROFESSOR LUCAS CUADRA was born in Madrid, Spain. He received the B.S. degree in Telecommunication Engineering, the M.S. degree in Physics of Electronic Devices ("Ingeniero de Telecomunicación") from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, the Diploma of Advanced Studies (Department of Physical Electronics, UPM), and the Ph.D. degree (UPM), with a doctoral thesis focused on Quantum Dot Intermediate Band Solar Cells. He spent 8 months in the Department of Electronics, The University of Glasgow, U.K. Currently, he is a Full Professor at the University of Alcalá, Spain. He is co-author of more than 100 international journal and conference papers in the fields of nanomaterials, complex networks, electronic devices, and artificial intelligence. He has researched within the framework of 28 Competitive Public Projects (2 European) and is co-author of 1 patent. His research has been awarded with 7 Research Awards, and 1 Knowledge Transfer Award. His current research focuses on seeking positive synergies between Network Science, Quantum Mechanics, and Artificial Intelligence to be applied in complex systems (nanomaterials, atmospherics, nanodevices, etc.)
