LUIS BERNARDO received the Ph.D. degree from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2002, and the Habilitation in telecommunications from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in 2013, where he is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is also affiliated as a Researcher with the Instituto de Telecomunicações, Lisbon. His research interests
include medium access control and application protocols for wireless communications, cross-layer optimization of wireless systems, routing protocols, and network modelling.
