She received her BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo, Cairo, Egypt, and her PhD from the Cardiff School of Computer Science and Informatics, Cardiff University, Cardiff, UK. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer Science at the College of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her research interests include heuristic and metaheuristic algorithms for combinatorial optimization, particularly focusing on scheduling problems, as well as HCI, data mining, and social network analysis.
