I completed my doctorate at the CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI)/Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University in India working on metabolic profiling of Isabgol (Plantago ovata) in 2016 (Patel et al. 2016, Frontiers in Plant Science; Patel et al. 2018, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules; Patel et al. 2019, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules; Patel et al. 2020, BMC Plant Biology) After a short stay in the group of Dr. Shree P. Pandey at Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Kolkata, India, I joined the group of Dr. Jitendra Kumar Thakur at National Institute of Plant Genome Research for a Postdoc (Patel et al. 2018, Bio-Protocol). After completed my national postdoctoral fellowship, I moved to Israel and joined the group of Dr. Noam Alkan at Agricultural Research Organization Volcani Center, Israel with Indo-Israel postdoctoral fellowship (Patel et al. 2020, Foods; Patel et al. 2020, Cells; Patel et al. 2022, Environmental and Experimental Botany).
