Basic training as general internist with further specialization in intensive care. Over the last 25 years, I have gained a lot of practical experience as a clinician and also as a manager in various hospitals. As chief medical officer of ZNA Stuivenberg and St-Erasmus, I learned to develop and implement a strategic vision. I also gained targeted experience as a process and project manager in the context of some new hospital construction projects. As founding chairman of the IFA and WSACS, I built an international network and organized many successful international symposia. For the last three years, as crisis manager, I have realized a thorough reorganisation of the intensive care department at the UZ Brussel.
