Background: 1. Degree in Biology (1990) National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with specialty in limnology and chemical quality of water. 2. Master in Biotechnology (1995) UNAM, specializing in municipal wastewater treatment by biofilm processes. 3. Diploma in Environmental Engineering (1996) University of Valladolid, Spain, specializing in biological treatment of industrial wastewater. 4. Doctorate in Civil Engineering (2001) Universidad Laval, Canada, specializing in agro-industrial wastewater biotreatment. Marco Garzón-Zúñiga has been technical responsible of 25 national projects and 4 international projects on research; technological development and technological services related to wastewater and has participated in other 23 national projects and 2 international projects. He is Author of 70 articles in extensive, on wastewater treatment, published in memories of specialized congresses with arbitration. He is Author of 33 scientific peer-reviewed papers in international journals (JCR). He has directed 18 postgraduate theses (4 of doctorate and 14 masters). He has developed and is author of 5 patents in México regarding with the development of WW treatment technologies. Two of these are commercialized by two Mexican companies. Expertise: development of wastewater technology, biological process of WW treatment, biofiltration process, aerobic and anaerobic process, physical-chemical treatment and water reuse and management, biomethane and biohydrogen production.
