Maria J. Perry research work in Medicinal Chemistry is focused in Drug Design. Areas of active interest include organic synthesis and identification of biologically active small molecules, prodrugs development, targeted drug delivery, drug metabolism and drug stability. In the recent years her main involvement has been the development of hybrid drugs for resistant malignancies namely cancer and tuberculosis. Science communication activities are another complement that also gives her a special and personal rewarding.
