Biography

I am an Associate professor working from Gothenburg University, Sweden. My focus of research has always been genetic and epigenetic regulation in cancer. By employing state of the art technologies we hope to find novel biomarkers and targets for diagnosis, prognosis and prediction of response to drug therapy. Currently working on understanding how RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) drive tumor progression and the molecular mechanisms that regulate their activity. RBPs are master regulators of post-transcriptional gene expression and are involved in regulating RNA splicing, stability and translation resulting in altered gene expression of both tumor suppressors and oncogenes. The ultimate goal of my work is to define RBPs as immunomodulators that could serve as novel therapeutic targets either alone or in combination with existing immunotherapy approaches.
