Saeed is within the top 2% of scientists worldwide, the director of the Center of Advanced Mining and Metallurgy (CAMM-SFO), and has a solid background in mineral processing with over 18 years of experience. As a professor, he has been with the Lulea University of Technology since November 2018. Through collaborative work in mineral processing across academia & industry, he has gained experience in industrial teamwork and management. He has also received Canada's and the USA's most prestigious awards (OGS, NSERC & Outstanding Researcher). His research connects fundamental particle and surface science with practical challenges in mining, mineral processing, and circular raw-material systems. His research has helped establish AI-driven approaches as a standard tool in mineral processing and froth flotation optimization in both R&D and industrial assessments. He is an editorial board member of several journals and has been selected as an outstanding reviewer on multiple occasions. Keynote speaker on sustainable flotation separation and the application of AI in mineral processing. Current activities include:
Green froth flotation using advanced collectors, depressants, dispersants, and frothers
Artificial-intelligence modeling of mining, mineral-processing, flotation, and leaching operations
Flotation and separation of fine and ultrafine particles
Mineral processing and upgrading of critical raw materials
Recovery of valuable materials from mine waste and secondary resources
