I am a full-time researcher and the Sub-programme leader for Drug Delivery at The Centre of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacen™), North-West University, South Africa. I also act as Head of Cosmeceutical Research, one of the three Focus Areas of Drug Delivery at Pharmacen™, and includes Transdermal and Topical Drug Delivery and the Postgraduate Diploma in Cosmetic Product Formulation. I am a C2 NRF-Rated Researcher, and my field of expertise is in Transdermal and Topical Drug Delivery. My focus is on formulating and developing nano-drug delivery vehicles to improve and optimize the topical and transdermal delivery of actives (pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical) and I also focus on dermal cytotoxicity and wound healing. I frequently act as a reviewer for journals and funding programs nationally and internationally. I regularly collaborate with the industry by advising on contract research or industry-sponsored projects.
