Dr. Marín Pompa-García has been a full-time professor at the Dendroecology Laboratory of
the Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the Juárez University of
the State of Durango. He completed his PhD in Natural Resources Management at
the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and has received the following awards:
1) Membership in the National System of Researchers of the Mexican government
since 2009 to present, 2) State Forestry Merit and National Forestry Merit, 3)
Honorary Researcher of Durango State, 4) Forest Merit Award granted by the
Mexican Association of Forestry Professionals, 5) Ecological Award, 6) State
Research Merit from the Durango State government, and 7) the distinction of Collaborating Academic Member in the National Academy of Forestry Sciences.
He recently led the following projects: 1) Drones and Dendro: An Opportunity for Precision
Silviculture and 2) Exploring Carbon Variation Using Dendroecological Proxies. He has published over
110 papers since 2010 in various journals and serves as a member of the Mexican
Society of Forest Resources and the National Society of Mexican Foresters.
Additionally, he is an academic editor and reviewer for several journals,
including collaborations with external research projects. His teaching
disciplines include Geographic Information Systems and Dendroecology, and his
research interests include forest ecology using tree rings and spatial analysis
in GIS environments.
