Dr.M. Muthukumaran, M.Sc., B.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D., (Botany) from the University of Madras. He was born in 15th January 1978. He is an Assistant Professor, PG and Research Department of Botany, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College (Autonomous), (Affiliated to the University of Madras), Chennai - 600004, Tamil Nadu, India. He has 15 years teaching and research experience. He has significantly contributed in the field of Plant Science, specifically Algal Biotechnology. Dr.Munusamy Muthukumaran received many prestigious awards. To site a few, his doctoral work credential was awarded best Ph.D thesis in the year 2010 in Botany (Prof. K. Kalyanasundaram Memorial Prize) by the University of Madras; The Appreciation of Good Service Merits Award for the year 2014 from the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD Board), Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai; Young Scientist of the Year 2016 Award; National Teaching Excellence Award 2017; Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Award 2018 for Excellence etc. He has done more than 40 special professional training in National and International Workshops and participated in more than 189 National and International Conferences/Symposia/Webinars. He has 2 patent design; written 7 chapters in books; edited in 3 books; and about 75 research articles published in reputed National and International Proceedings & Journals. He has presented 11 invited lectures at national and international conferences and holds life membership in several scientific forums.
