Mr. Nima Arij

Biography

I am a researcher in remote sensing and geomatics, focusing on environmental monitoring using satellite data, the development and application of digital twins, and habitat quality assessment. My research integrates multi-source Earth observation data with advanced machine learning, statistical modeling, and uncertainty analysis to study ecological dynamics across spatiotemporal scales. In applied contexts, I have experience in detecting forest cover loss, monitoring wetlands, assessing biodiversity, and developing initial digital twin frameworks for environmental systems. My work emphasizes accuracy assessment, uncertainty-aware analyses, and scenario-based modeling to support conservation planning, ecosystem management, and evidence-based decision-making. My academic interests lie at the intersection of remote sensing, spatial ecology, and geospatial data science. Specifically, I focus on analyzing wetland ecosystem dynamics, monitoring forest disturbances, and modeling habitat quality using multi-temporal satellite imagery. My research integrates machine learning, time-series analysis, and spatial modeling to assess habitat degradation, landscape fragmentation, and ecosystem biodiversity patterns. Additionally, I develop frameworks for quantifying uncertainty, accuracy assessment, and applying digital twins, point cloud analysis, and remote sensing to study the impacts of climate and environmental change.
