Biography

Although I am omnivorous in terms of science, I am a wildlife biologist interested in population ecology and animal behavior, with a primary interest in translating my knowledge into pragmatic approaches for decision making and wildlife management. I focus my research on raptors, as my study models. My research combines multidisciplinary techniques, including fieldwork, analysis of satellite telemetry data, population dynamics and spatial analysis. Since 2006, I have been researching the fascinating world of animal movement. The overall objective of my research is to use high-resolution telemetry to gain insight into the ecological responses through which animals respond to ecological variations in their environment and to apply this information to the conservation of endangered species. From 2021 to the present, I have been an Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology and Ecology (University of Valencia, Spain). I am also an associate researcher at the Cavanilles Institute of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology of the same university, where I am the principal investigator of the Movement Ecology lab. From 2012 to 2014, I was a lecturer in Zoology and Vertebrates Zoology at the University of Alicante (Spain). Currently, I am a lecturer in Biology and Environmental Sciences degrees and in a Master’s degree in Biodiversity: Conservation and Evolution of the Faculty of Biological Sciences (University of Valencia).
