Raúl Siche has a degree in Agroindustrial Engineering from the Universidad Nacional del Santa, a Master's Degree in Economics (Business Management Mention) from the National University of Trujillo, and a PhD in Food Engineering from the State University of Campinas, Brazil, and carried out postdoctoral studies at the University of Lleida (Spain). They are currently a Professor and Researcher at the National University of Trujillo on the development of biodegradable packaging and the image-based generation of nondestructive methods. They are a Member of the SciELO Peru Committee, an Editor of "Scientia Agropecuaria", indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science, an Evaluator of competitive projects, and a Reviewer of scientific articles. They have published more than 80 scientific articles in identified journals. They have been invited to teach courses on experimental designs at the University of Lleida (Spain) and the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), have won several research competitions, and have received five grants from CONCYTEC and one from InnóvatePerú. They are a Founding Member of the International University Network of Agroindustrial Engineering (UNIA Network). They have received the Doctor Honoris Causa distinction from the National University of Tumbes, the Vicente Delfín Tizón Excellence in Engineering award from La Libertad Departmental Council of the College of Engineers of Peru, and the Elsevier Excellence Award, North East Edition 2019: Agricultural Sciences Area.
