Information

My research focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of both animals and humans; requiring both qualitative and quantitative approaches and data analyses. As an EIT researcher, I have been involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of various community-based health interventions and initiatives. More recently, we have been exploring human-animal interactions and their impacts on wellbeing under the umbrella of “One Welfare”. This concept recognises that human wellbeing, animal welfare, and the environment are all interconnected and aligns with Tikanga Māori. In collaboration with the Lincoln University Gene-Marker Laboratory, I am part of a team undertaking gene-marker research for improved health, welfare and productivity in animal breeding.
