Dr Slađan Rašić has been working on the selection and training of honeybee and queen bee artificial insemination, the quality of bee products and technologies, pollination, apitehnika, nutrition of bees, and solitary bees. He is employed as an associate professor at the University EDUCONS, Faculty of Ecological Agriculture, Sremska Kamenica. The thesis entitled "MORPHOLOGICAL, GENETIC, AND PRODUCTION CHARACTERISTICS OF SELECTED LINES OF HONEY BEE (Apis mellifera carnica)" was defended on 01.02.2014 at the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade. He participated in national and other projects on the topic of the selection and breeding of queen bees. He participated in professional associations: from 2005 to 2009, secretary of the Association of Professional Beekeepers of Serbia; from 2009 to 2011, president of the Association of Carnica Breeders of Serbia; from 2002 to today, vice president of the Beekeepers Association of Belgrade; member of the Beekeeping Association of Serbia; from 1995 to 2004, member of the Editorial Board of the journal "Beekeeper"; from 2016, president of the SERBIAN HONEY TASTING SOCIETY; and from 2014, a member of the association of international bee breeders, Bee Research Network for Sustainable Bee Breeding.
