Robert G. Varady is a Research Professor of Environmental Policy and past director of the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy at the University of Arizona. His PhD is from the University of Arizona (1981) in modern history, and he holds MS and BS degrees in mathematics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (1966) and the City College of New York (1961). His work mostly has addressed environmental and water-management governance and policy in arid regions, with an emphasis on crossborder issues. He is a Fellow Member of the International Water Resources Association and past president of the International Water History Association (IWHA).
