Roger is a Professor of Control Systems Engineering, a Fellow of the IMechE and of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered Engineer. He has over 25 years of application focussed research experience gained in industry (ALSTOM) and academia (at University of Birmingham, Loughborough and Lancaster) and is a specialist in Control Systems, Mechatronics, Condition Monitoring and Fault Tolerant Systems. The application areas for his research have been broad, including rail, aerospace, and energy domains.
