Samiris Côcco Teixeira, PhD, is a researcher in Food Science and Technology with expertise in biopolymers, smart packaging, and food-safety sensors. Her work focuses on the extraction, characterization, and chemical modification of biomaterials derived from agricultural residues, particularly vine shoots. She develops cellulose acetate– and lignin-based films, membranes, and colorimetric/electrochemical sensors for applications in intelligent food packaging. Dr. Teixeira conducted advanced research at Lincoln University (New Zealand), working with atmospheric cold plasma processing and biopolymer engineering. Her research interests include sustainable materials, smart packaging technologies, rapid detection systems for food safety, and value-added applications of agro-industrial waste.
