Dr. Saptami U. Kanekar is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Integrative Omics Data Science, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), India. She earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from Yenepoya University, focusing on quorum sensing modulation and anti-virulence strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance. Her research spans microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, quorum sensing, biofilms, host–pathogen interactions, proteomics, metabolomics, cancer biology, signaling pathways, microbiome studies, and phytomedicine. Dr. Kanekar has expertise in microbiological and molecular techniques, omics data analysis, biomaterial-based drug delivery, and systems biology. Her work combines experimental microbiology with computational biology to study infectious diseases and cancer signaling. Awards include the ICMR Senior Research Fellowship, Best Research Performance Award, and an M.Sc. Gold Medal. She mentors postgraduate students, fosters interdisciplinary collaborations, and advances translational microbiology and integrative omics research.
