Prof. Selim Aslan graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Uludağ University in 1983. He worked as a veterinarian in Bad-Hersfeld near Frankfurt. In 1985, he started working as a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ankara University. In 1987, as a result of the acceptance of a project written by him, he received a scholarship from the Austrian Government (ÖAAD) and worked with Prof.DDr.K. Arbeiter in Austria in the field of clinical research (large, small animals). He completed his PhD in Austria in 1992. In 1993, he became an Associate Professor, and in 2000, a Professor. In 1995 and 1998, he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna. He was twice awarded a DAAD Fellowship in Germany (Munich and Hannover) in different periods. He was active in designing and conducting scientific projects in different countries (Switzerland, Vienna, Germany). He worked in herd management programs in different South American countries.
