Professor Simon J. Conn is a Cancer Impact Research Professor and Head of the Circular RNAs in Cancer Laboratory at the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI), Flinders University, Australia. He completed his PhD studies in Molecular Biology at Flinders University, and has been recognised for his research receiving Tall Poppy award, listed in the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists since its inception. With his research centred on alternative splicing of RNA transcripts in development and human disease, focussing on circular RNAs, he has published over 50 papers in journals including Cell (x2), Nature Biotechnology, Nature Reviews Cancer, Nucleic Acids Research (x2), Nature Plants, EMBO Journal, Nature Cell Biology, and serves as an editorial board member for non-coding RNA journal and Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences journal.
