Dr. Ms. Ekaterina A. Skiba is a Senior Research Scientist at the Laboratory of Bioconversion in the Institute for Problems of Chemical & Energetic Technologies of the SB RAS (IPCET SB RAS), and is an Associate Professor at the Biysk Technological Institute (affiliated with the Polzunov Altai State Technical University). She received the highest doctoral degree in Engineering and Biotechnology from Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology (Moscow). Her research interests include (but are not limited to) the transformation of lignocellulosic feedstocks through chemical and biotechnology techniques into microbiological synthesis products such as bioethanol, bacterial nanocellulose, lactic acid and feed protein. She is engaged in scaling up the complete cycle from a feedstock to a ready-made product under pilot production conditions. She is currently an investigator and a principal investigator in projects supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and by the Russian Science Foundation. She has been awarded an Honorary Certificate by the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS).
