Sławomir Borek is an Associate Professor at the Department of Plant Physiology, Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań, Poland. He investigates the autophagy triggered by sugar starvation in embryo axes of germinating lupin seeds, and he is interested in the regulatory function of asparagine in the course of autophagy, especially its role in the degradation of autophagic bodies. Sławomir is also seeking evidence on pexophagy in plant cells. The second area of his scientific interest is the role of uncommon nucleotides in plant metabolism. Sławomir serves as a chief editor, academic editor, and reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals on plant physiology, biochemistry, and agriculture.
