In my graduate research, I investigated the epigenetic implications of gene expression regulation by two chromatin-interacting proteins. The first part of my work delves into the examination of a putative chromatin reader protein, exploring its modified histone-binding ability through specific motifs and amino acid residues. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the enzymatic function of another chromatin reader-cum-writer protein, elucidating its involvement in the regulation of telomerase-mediated gene transcription and its impact on breast cancer metastasis. For my postdoctoral research, I am investigating the role of a ubiquitous transcription factor in the maintenance of lineage commitment in the immune system. Specifically, I am deciphering the mechanism of regulation emphasizing the changes in the long-range chromatin interaction, epigenetic modifications and 3D genome structure. My research training spans diverse biological disciplines such as Immunology, Epigenetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Cancer Biology. Engaging in cross-disciplinary research has facilitated my growth as an independent researcher, enabling me to independently design, optimize, and conduct experiments. Successful collaborations with fellow researchers have led to significant contributions to multiple projects. These experiences underscore the importance of individuality and effective communication skills in achieving successful outcomes within specified timelines and budgets
