Dr. Sumithra Murthy is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois, Chicago. She has a background in both clinical medicine, with an MBBS degree from India, and in public health through an MPH. She has her doctoral training in disability studies. She is a mixed methods researcher, and her scholarship addresses family support and caregiving for people with disabilities with a special focus on intellectual and developmental disabilities, health disparities among people with disabilities and their families, health promotion, and culturally-tailored interventions.
