Veronica Manganiello is a Research Technologist at the CREA Research Centre for Agricultural Policies and Bioeconomy (CREA-PB), Italy. She holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods, with a focus on Circular Economy. She is responsible for SIGRIAN (National Information System for Water Resources Management in Agriculture), the national information system supporting irrigation planning, agricultural water management, and water governance in Italy. Her research activities focus on agricultural water management, irrigation systems, water reuse, climate change adaptation, environmental sustainability, circular economy, and the evaluation of agricultural and environmental policies. She is responsible for the collaboration agreement between CREA and the Southern Apennine District Basin Authority, supporting the development of River Basin Management Plans and water resource planning for the agricultural sector. She also serves as CREA expert in national technical working groups coordinated by the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security on issues related to agricultural water resources, irrigation management, and climate resilience. Her work contributes to the development of evidence-based strategies and decision-support tools for sustainable water resource management in agriculture at regional and national levels.
