Ilaria Vicenti PhD is a Research Fellow in Microbiology at the Department of Medical Biotechnology of the University of Siena. She is specialized in the virology field, particularly antiviral drug development and resistance. She has been working on HIV drug resistance for more than 15 years taking part many international initiatives and collaborating with pharmaceutical companies. In the last ten years she has worked in antiviral drug discovery and development, expanding his area of interest to flaviviruses and more recently to SARS-COV-2 new coronavirus where she has started to study the impact of neutralizing antibody response in patients previously infected and/or vaccinated. Funding in this area include grants from the European Commission, from the Italian Ministry of University and Research (PRIN) and from Tuscany Region. His publication track record includes more than 60 papers indexed in Pubmed, the current H index is 13.
