My research and academic interests focus on soil science (pedology), with particular emphasis on the physical and chemical properties of soils, nutrient dynamics—especially nitrogen, and their effects on plant nutrition and agricultural production. My work includes field and laboratory research related to soil fertility, soil–plant interactions, and sustainable soil and crop management under different agroecological conditions. I have served as project leader on several research and applied projects, including Knowledge Transfer into Food Production, Impact of Physico-Chemical Properties of Carbonate Soils and Nitrogen Fertilization on Grapevine Nutrition in Baranja Vineyards, and Effect of Short Rotation Forestry and Arable Crop Intercropping on Soil Fertility. In addition, I have participated as a collaborator in national and international projects focused on organic fertilizer and substrate innovation, intercropping systems involving short rotation coppice (SRC), application of biological products in sustainable crop production, ecosystem services and value creation in the European seaweed industry, and biofortification of arable crops and vegetables with micronutrients. Alongside my research activities, I am actively involved in teaching and mentoring students, supervising undergraduate and graduate theses, and promoting the practical application of scientific knowledge in sustainable and environmentally responsible agriculture.
