Dr. Xiao‐Li Pei is an Assistant Professor at the Tokyo University of Science, Japan. She obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2015 from Xiamen University, China, under the supervision of Prof. Quan‐Ming Wang. From 2016 to 2019, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher and Marie Curie Fellow in Prof. Antonio M. Echavarren’s group at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), Spain. In 2019, she joined Prof. Mitsuhiko Shionoya’s group as a postdoctoral researcher and was later appointed Project Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan. In 2024, she moved with the group to the Tokyo University of Science, where she currently serves as an Assistant Professor. She has been actively involved in the development of N-heterocyclic-carbene (NHC)-protected carbon-centered gold(I) clusters in Prof. Shionoya’s laboratory.
Her research interests include the synthesis and design of ligand-protected gold(I) clusters, etching-based cluster construction, heterometallic alloying, chiral cluster architectures, and photophysical properties. She has published her work in Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, and Eur. J. Chem.
