Biography

Dr. Yasser Karar is an experienced university lecturer and researcher specializing in Zoology and Parasitology, currently based at New Valley University, Egypt. His research focuses on systematic parasitology, combining morphological, morphometric, species delimitation analyses, and molecular methods for taxonomy and phylogenetic analysis of parasitic trematodes collected from marine fishes of the Red Sea. Dr. Karar is proficient in DNA extraction, gene sequencing, phylogenetic tree construction, and species delimitation, and applies advanced statistical and bioinformatics tools to analyze biological sequence data. He has published extensively on the taxonomy and phylogeny of digenean trematodes and other helminths, contributing to improved understanding of parasite diversity and host interactions. Dr. Karar is dedicated to scientific research, academic teaching, and mentoring students, fostering excellence in parasitology education and research. Fluent in Arabic and English, he effectively prepares scientific manuscripts and research proposals. His academic interests also include bioinformatics, molecular taxonomy, multivariate analysis, and phylogenetics, supporting integrative approaches in parasite systematics.
